FALL SPORTS REGISTRATION CLOSES: FRIDAY, June 2nd *Teams do fill up so please register on time. *We declare our teams to CYC in late summer so late registrations cannot be guaranteed! SPECIAL NOTE: Parents, please check with your students before you register them to make sure they are willing to play. TOCS Athletics has a “no refund” policy unless we cannot place your child on a team. Because we have to submit team information to the CYC league prior to league play, we are counting on the number of registered participants to ensure we have enough players to submit a team. When someone drops out after we have declared teams, it is unfair to the rest of the students if we no longer have enough players to field a team. Questions? The championship trophy for the third grade girls soccer team is now on display in the trophy case outside the school library.

The girls finished first in the Catholic Youth Conference’s fall soccer league with a 9-1-1 record, their only loss being to St. Alban Roe, a team they had beaten earlier in the season.

“The trophy is a result of hard work, dedication and team work,” said Twin Oaks Christian School Third Grade Girls Head Soccer Coach Brian Yost. “It is well deserved and awesome to see the girls experience this.  Lots of great teaching moments as a result.”

As the much-anticipated trophy made its way to the display cabinet on Monday morning, the girls rushed to get their pictures taken around the memento that will forever signify the Lady Eagles’ 2016 soccer triumph. “They were so excited I couldn’t get them to go back to class,” said Twin Oaks Christian School Supplies Secretary Pam Cassidy, whose daughter, Savannah, played on the winning soccer team.

CYC provided the team with individual trophies as well as a large first place trophy.

The girls received individual trophies last Saturday during their team party at the Donut Palace in Ellisville, Mo. “We had donuts and gave out trophies,” said Cassidy. “It was also announced that the big trophy was on its way.”

During the off-season, the Lady Eagles will be playing together in an indoor Vetta Sports league. Their indoor soccer season starts next week and will run through the month of April.
