as Glenridge Christian School. It was a ministry of the Glenridge Presbyterian Church. This church is now called Covenant Presbyterian Church . The first year included grades 1-3 with a total of 6 students and one teacher. The following year the enrollment jumped to 17 children in two classrooms. The enrollment was larger than the number of board members. With increased enrollment it was time to find a new location to accommodate a growing school.

The Covenant Presbyterian Church accepted the school and the name changed to Covenant Christian School. For 18 years the School was a part of the ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church. As the church grew so did the school. Satellite campuses were established at what is now Covenant Presbyterian Church and at a local Baptist church building. Enrollment grew to 140 students.

The commitment to both Biblical teaching and academic excellence were simultaneous objectives from the School’s inception. Families made the commitment to Christian education within an area where local public schools had a good reputation. They wanted something that was not available, a Biblical worldview. The School continues to seek a Biblical perspective in the classroom and in all aspects of school life. Standardized test results have routinely validated the commitment to academic excellence.

The move to Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church took place in February of 1992. The School’s facilities were considered when the church designed the building. When church growth gave rise to a building addition, the School’s needs were again considered and with that initiative, the number of classrooms was doubled which obviously affected enrollment potential. Enrollment grew at a reasonable pace so that by September of 2000, 90% of the enrollment capacity was realized.

In August of 2004, TOCS added a 7th grade and implemented a Middle School that now includes grades 6 through 8. Twin Oaks serves children in Preschool through Grade 8 and continues to promote Christian education within the community and local churches.
