Job Description
Responsible to: Head of School
Mission Statement: Twin Oaks Christian School seeks to glorify God by nurturing spiritual development, academic excellence, and servant leadership in an environment where each student is known and loved.
Summary: Twin Oaks Christian School seeks a part-time counselor who can provide social-emotional support and learning opportunities for students in a Preschool-Grade 8 school.
- No more than 24 hours per week. Specific days and hours TBD.

- The counselor will faithfully attend a local church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the beliefs of Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The School Counselor will:
- Observe classes to assess areas of group and individual student social/emotional needs.
- Work with teachers to better understand group and individual student social/emotional needs.
- Based on observations and teacher input, develop class guidance lessons tailored for individual classes.
- Based on observations and teacher input, meet with students needing one-on-one or small group support.
- Provide support and counsel for teachers as needed.
Required skills/abilities:
- Understanding of issues that affect mental health and well-being
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to develop healthy relationships with students, teachers, parents
- Ability to counsel (group and individual), using best clinical practices and incorporating a biblical worldview
- Ability to teach students and teachers in formal and informal settings
- Desire to help shape and carry out the vision for the counseling program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Arts in Counseling
- LPC or PLPC pursuing licensure
- Experience working in a school setting
